Nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of North Stradbroke Island and as much as I tried… a photo just doesn’t do it justice!
I have been to both South and North Stradebroke Islands now and where they are both totally different… they are equally astonishingly captivating in their beauty.
We had a 360 degree view of the local wildlife with wallabies no more than two metres off the trail, humpback wales playing in the surrounding waters and pods of dolphins. Around another bend and you see a swarm of large seas turtles surfacing… wow!
I’d highly recommend a visit to North Stradebrooke Island if for no other reason than to walk North Gorge Walk. It was easily one of the most spectacular walks I have ever done. The scenery is stunning, the views are second to none, and the wildlife will blow your mind!
You will come back to do this walk again and again, and every time you will have a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
These were taken on my iPhone.
Views from the walk
A local fisherman having a fish – don’t ask me how he got down there or for that matter how he’s getting back up??
We went back the following year – still mind blowing the second time around.
